People usually think that a missions trip begins when your feet hits the ground of the country or place. As a member of the Youth Life Issues team, the missions trip began the day we signed up to be a reflection of God’s love. Many people in New York asked me, “Why Scotland? Why don’t you go and support a third world country?” I told them, “God chose Scotland for our church to go, encourage the church and lift up His name.”
As the bus drove through Greenock, I saw the beauty of the town in its simplicity. Tonight we had the opportunity to celebrate the Remembrance Day holiday with the Greenockians. My team member and I decided to speak to some of the young people about the coming events of the conference. As I was speaking to them I realized why God sent us here. He does not look at the outward appearance, He looks at the heart.
